Jared Bradshaw: Fighting for Trust in an Industry of Doubt

With insurance brokers on every corner in every city, competition is fierce and can lead to dishonest behavior leaving some business owners having too little insurance or complete gaps in crucial coverage. Knowing who to trust can be hard. How can you be sure if a broker has your best interest in mind or if they are just trying to make a sale?


Here's some hints...

If they can make the unknown simple enough for you to understand, you're on the right path. The more complicated it's made to sound, the more you should question it. 

If they are willing to send your business to someone else who is better suited to meet your needs, you've got a keeper.

If they don't respond timely (or at all) to your questions - RUN.


My conversation with Jared Bradshaw of MaxPro Insurance in Valencia, California, is proof that good and decent brokers full of integrity still exist. Jared takes us on a journey from his early fighting career to consulting in the cannabis industry, finally landing in insurance as an independent broker building a team to help protect some of the largest and most complicated industries around. It's no surprise that his success is driven by hard work, trust, and you guessed it...curiosity.

Nonprofits need profits (and business is good)

Conversation with Nonprofit Travel Underwriter, Stephen Heck of USLI.  We talk about what actually defines a business as a nonprofit and I'm absolutely floored to learn about one of America's most successful sports league (if not THE most successful) actually operated as a nonprofit for 73 years! We also discuss how many nonprofits don't even purchase insurance, or at least not the right kind of insurance, for various reasons - mostly for budget inadequacies and innocent ignorance. USLI has dedicated the past few decades to refining a product specifically for nonprofits to allow for obtaining necessary coverage at a price they can afford, not to mention making it one of the simplest products to get!
